Former minister Senthil Balaji has filed a petition in the Madras High Court seeking a six-day exemption from the conditions attached to his anticipatory bail. He stated that he requires this time to consult with his legal team regarding an appeal to the Supreme Court in a case related to TASMAC.
The request specifically seeks an exemption from appearing at the Triplicane police station as currently mandated. However, Balaji has provided an undertaking that he will strictly comply with the reporting requirement by August 5. The anticipatory bail was previously granted to him in connection with a case involving a TVK MLA.
