Thoothukudi Town DSP Sunil has issued a clarification regarding the death of a youth named Arunachalam, who was taken in for questioning on July 17. According to the DSP, the youth suddenly collapsed while the inquiry was underway. Police immediately notified his relatives and, with the assistance of his parents and officers, transported him to the Thoothukudi Government Hospital.
The DSP stated that Arunachalam collapsed again upon arrival at the hospital, where doctors identified a head injury. He categorically denied allegations of custodial death, asserting that the youth was not subjected to any physical assault by the police.
