Cauvery Water Management Authority Orders Karnataka to Release Water

The Cauvery Water Management Authority (CWMA) has directed the Karnataka government to release water to Tamil Nadu. The decision follows a recommendation from the Cauvery Water Regulation Committee. Under the directive, Karnataka must release 3,500 cubic feet of water per second for the next 15 days. This order comes despite Karnataka's ongoing opposition to releasing water from the river.
